Spider Murphy Gang - Rock'n'Roll Tour 2023
I ziag’s net aus mei Rock 'n‘ Roll Schua! This line from the song of the same name by the Spider Murphy Gang (for those who don't know Bavarian: "I don't take off my rock 'n' roll shoes!") actually says it all: the Spider Murphy Gang is still here.
It’s not just that - it's better than ever. The release of hits like "Skandal im Sperrbezirk" is now more than 25 years ago - but the band's live concerts are still thrilling performances by an excellent band that has rock 'n' roll in its blood - and in its fingers.
If you only know the Spider Murphy Gang from their records, you should definitely come to one of the band's many gigs: the guitars rock, the piano rolls in the best boogie style and the whole band exudes joy and good humor, so that no one would think that they are veterans from the eighties.
After a long band history, many successes, minor setbacks and some inevitable line-up changes, Spider Murphy Gang has arrived where Günther and Barny always dreamed of being in their youth: on stage, sweating and fully engaged in serving the audience a hearty rock 'n' roll party.
In November 2007, the Spider Murphy Gang is officially named "Covered Berry" for the first time on Chuck Berry's website, alongside other big names such as the Beatles or the Rolling Stones, and is acknowledged as a representative of Chuck Berry's brand of rock 'n' roll. Along with the Scorpions, the Spider Murphys are the only German performers listed there.
In 2017, the Spider Murphy Gang celebrates its 40th band anniversary. By the way, the real Spider Murphy was a saxophonist in Elvis Presley's famous "Jailhouse Rock" band and so it also becomes clear where the musical influences came from in the early years.
The idea to sing Bavarian came in 1977 from the famous Rolling Schorsch aka Georg Kostya, the rock 'n' roll-besotted DJ of the Bayerischer Rundfunk. He said to Günther Sigl: "Sing it in Bavarian." Said. Sung.
The Spider Murphys put on the "Rock 'n' Roll Schua" and sang about the Sperrbezirk with its Rosi.
So be there when another year of Spider Murphy Gang history is written in 2023 and put on the "Rock 'n' Roll Schua"!
