Paul Carrack - Live in Concert
Paul Carrack, the former singer of the band MIKE & THE MECHANICS , will return for exclusive Germany shows in 2023 to the great delight of his fans.
"The man with the golden voice", as Carrack was described in the BBC television documentary about his life, has pulled out all the stops with the album "These Days". The poignant and performance-based set features an incredible lineup with Paul on keyboards and guitar, his hugely experienced colleague Jeremy Meek on bass, and with two very renowned musicians rounding out the main cast - Robbie McIntosh (Paul McCartney, Pretenders, Norah Jones, John Mayer) on lead guitar and Steve Gadd, who is one of the top musicians in the world, on drums.
"These Days" is the follow-up to the 2016 album "Soul Shadows," which included new favorites like "Keep On Lovin' You" and "Let Me Love Again," in addition to songs like "Satisfy My Soul," "Eyes Of Blue," "Good Feelin' About It" and "That's All That Matters To Me." Paul's notable history also included his time with popular bands such as Ace, Squeeze and Mike + The Mechanics, where he lent his distinctive voice to hits such as "Silent Running," "Tempted," "The Living Years" and "Over My Shoulders." He was in demand for years as a singer as well as an instrumentalist with major artists. These included Elton John, the Eagles, Diana Ross and Roxy Music, among others.
In 2013, Paul was personally chosen by Eric Clapton to be one of his band members and continues to take on this role with honor.
The new album of Paul Carrack one on one
For over 20 years now Paul Carrack has been running his own record label, so he knows exactly what it means to take his career into his own hands. So when the lockdown hit the music industry in hard times, the singer-songwriter started a new album. one on one has a special meaning for him. Carrack not only wrote his songs, but also played and recorded everything himself. He himself said "Most of the time I take other people's opinions too much to heart. I think it's good that I listened to my instincts. It gave the album a unique touch." The sound of one on one is very lively, which is even more impressive when you consider that Carrack worked completely alone most of the time.
Every single song tells a little story from Paul Carrack's life. "I Miss You So" is about his daughter and how he couldn't be with her when she gave birth to his granddaughter. "When Love Is Blind" was accompanied by his son on drums. "You're Not Alone," one of those relatively rare ballads, was the first single from the album. The idea came to him when he heard someone say "if you think the world is conspiring against you, you're not alone."
One day he would like to record another country album, but for now he's excited about what's coming and "see what goes over well".
